ACOUSTIC CELLARS LODGE

ALL INCLUSIVE WINE, MUSIC & NATURE IMMERSION

National Heritage Blues Hall of Fame inductee Ambassador and performing artist Leon J with his wife Dawn at SXSW 2022 live performance Nashville Riverboat showcase

Meet your hosts

Dawn and Leon Morton love the Verde Valley, wine, music, and nature! We love making sure  guests have an amazing experience!

The Acoustic Cellars Lodge is nestled in the trees on two acres, next to adorable alpacas perfect for relaxing or taking trial walks. We are twenty minutes from Cottonwood, Sedona and Jerome. We are three miles from the Page Springs Wineries. The Page Springs/Cornville, Arizona Wine Country may be the best-kept secret in all of Arizona, and that’s saying something for a state that boasts all of the seven topography climate zones, the Grand Canyon, Havasupai Falls, the Sonoran Desert and so much more.

Nationally being touted as the ‘Napa of Arizona’ by those industry experts and connoisseurs in the know and recently certified as the American Viticultural Area, this uniquely tranquil community is located between Sedona and Cottonwood, on the banks of Oak Creek. Hidden and tucked away beneath a typical high desert terrain in one of the beautiful lush greenbelts of the Verde Valley, the terroir is perfect for the gorgeous vineyards that now inhabit this amazing place.

As you drive in through the canyon on Page Springs Road (the area gets it name for the artesian natural springs found here over 100 years ago) viewing the beautiful vineyards on the mountainside, the large majestic trees lining the flow of the creek, and the beauty of this natural setting, it is common to express awe and wonder of “how is this place hidden here and why haven’t I ever been here before now!”

The Verde Valley wine trail winds along the beautiful Oak Creek, with over 25 award winning wineries and tasting rooms located from the rejuvenated mining town of Jerome through historic Clarkdale, the chic, thriving old town Cottonwood, Page Springs, and up to Sedona. Exploring this area is a full weekend excursion including world class hiking in the Sedona red rocks, shopping, food and wine tasting! Make sure to visit the creek five minutes from the Lodge. Acoustic Cellars Lodge is located smack dab in the middle of this trail. Our beautiful two acre property bestows beautiful lush majestic trees including cottonwoods, pines and organic mulberry trees. An old corral invites the neighboring alpacas up to enjoy those beautiful mulberries and the cooling shade. Make sure you grab a couple of treats to our cute, furry little alpacas!

On the property, we have an amazing mature oganic garden where we harvest fresh vegetables for our guests. The property bestows trees and flowers galore throughout the walking paths.  Get cozy by the multiple fire pits, play outdoor games, and relax in one of our many sitting areas. We consistently have wildlife visit us including peacocks, geese, raccoons, deer, squirrels and more. Meditate under a blanket of stars cover the sky at night!

A synchronistic merging of three of Leon’s passions.. amazing music, amazing wine, and meeting amazing people! Your host and proprietor Leon J, National Heritage Blues Hall of Fame Performing Artist and Ambassador recognized for his Roots Blues and Delta infused historical American Acoustic Blues, country, and rock music showcase (The Americana Crossroads Music Review Tribute). Upon acquiring the Lodge, the vision came alive in his mind… The incredible potential to recreate one of his favorite musical venues/experiences (Daryl’s House)  Daryl Hall, from the international famed Hall and Oats Band, turned his lodge in upstate NY into a music venue where he would bring in special guests and perform private exclusive concerts for his neighbors, family and friends…

When he saw the captivating great room of the lodge with it’s majestic 20′ two sided stoned fireplace, Leon saw the vision of building a performing stage and private intimate music venue, so he rolled up his sleeves and went to work.  After fully restoring the lodge, while simultaneously enrolling in the two year Science of Wine Making Enology Degree Program at the renown Yavapai College Southwest Wine Center, two of his passions came together as one.  Bringing great music to the amazing wine of the Verde Valley AVA and The Acoustic Cellars Lodge was born!

The lodge is now home to the Acoustic Cellars Concert Series which includes exclusive house concerts (seating is limited to 40 to ensure a very intimate showcase) supporting regional and international artists once a month in addition to Leon’s music weekly. And he plays his National Steel Resonator or his road warrior’d Taylor 814 and perform a private show for our guests as they relax and taste some of his wine making prowess as well as other featured wine makers who sponsor the Lodge Shows.   Truly something you do not want to miss!

For those that are new to the area and want to really relax and enjoy the sites and spots to visit, the AZ Wine Crawler Tour starts and finishes at the lodge… We will transport and share history of all of the best wineries and tasting rooms, so you can responsibly enjoy the amazing wines; leave the driving up to us.

We also offer the Lodge and all suite accommodations for small groups of up to fifteen where we provide gourmet healthy meals, complimentary wine tasting and more. All inclusive packages are available as well. Email acousticcellarslodge@gmail.com for rates and customized deals.
